Vat is Lefse? Lefse is a Norwegian pastry made from (real) potatoes, flour, butter, whipping cream, sugar and salt. The potatoes are cooked, whipped and made into dough, then rolled out and lightly baked on a special griddle.WARNING: Lefse can be addictive if you have even a trace of Scandinavian blood in your veins. There is no known cure but the side effects can be offset by vigorous and copius amounts of exercise!!All lefse is handmade by the Kings Norsk Bakery using only the finest and freshest ingredients available. We believe in freshness but use no preservatives in order to maintain the flavor and tradition of a recipe passed down over generations. How to Prepare Lefse - TraditionalThe most common way to prepare lefse is to spread a thin layer of butter, sprinkle with sugar (or sugar and cinnamon), roll and eat it - with a meal in place of a dinner roll or by itself as a snack.Lefse Crepes Lefse makes an excellent treat with your favorite jam, brown sugar or honey down the middle. It also makes a wonderful crepe rolled up with your favorite fruit and topped with whipped cream.Lefse as a MealLefse can be used taco style with meat and cheese or polish sausage.
